“We need an image of a…”
How many times do you hear that? In this era of no budget for images, resources of free imagery are invaluable. I’ve used MorgueFile myself a couple of times. It’s great for finding high-quality images to use for pre-visualizing or comp’ing a piece, but all the images aren’t always available for free & commercial uses, so I’m always on the lookout for other sources.
A recent link popped up in del.icio.us/popular that adds to the growing list of free-image resources online: Pixel Perfect Digital. The images are high-quality and lend themselves nicely to being used as backgrounds or foreground elements. Most appear to be sized 1280 x 960 and above which makes them well-suited for SD video work (& they should be easily adaptable for HD work as well). BTW, make sure to check at the bottom of the Pixel Perfect page for a list of other free-image sites to check out.
As I was typing this post, this link, popped to the top of del.icio.us/popular: Where To Find Great Free Photographs. After briefly reading through it, I find it covers the options out there much better than I have the time for on this subject. Well worth a read for more in-depth info about several options out there.
